About My Clients
I have worked with a broad range of clients in my career. In this time I find I work well with adult clients in transition, wanting to learn to set boundaries, prioritize their needs, and heal from traumatic experiences. I particularly enjoy working with those who feel skeptical or on the fence about beginning therapy for the first time. If that's you, reach out to me to find out what having a warm, supportive, validating therapist can do for you and your life
My Background and Approach
I completed my Master’s Degree at Arcadia University. I'm trained in CBT, TF-CBT, and EMDR. I am also a PA Certified Domestic Violence Advocate. My training during graduate school focused on providing trauma-informed care to adults and children impacted by intimate partner violence. After graduation, I worked as a forensic mental health clinician providing court-mandated therapy to people reentering into the community following incarceration. Because of this experience, I dedicated my time to understanding the social justice inequities that exist in US jails and prisons, especially when it comes to mental health care and the lasting effects of incarceration. I then continued my work in Philadelphia providing therapy in a community mental health setting, treating a broad range of concerns related to both mental health and systemic issues before opening my private practice in 2023.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My care is based in a trauma-informed, social-justice and abolitionist framework, and I strive to create a space for all clients to feel safe, seen, and supported through their therapy journey. I believe that my clients are the expert in their own lives and strive to build trust with them in order to best guide them toward achieving their goals. I think that therapy can be serious one week and silly the next. I work to hold a nonjudgemental space where my clients feel they can talk to me about anything and everything. A little about me: Just like my clients, I'm a whole person outside of my job! In my life away from work I spend time with my two cats, Leo and Benny (both of whom will likely butt into a session) and volunteer with ProjectMEOW, a cat rescue in West Philly. I also enjoy shamelessly watching terrible reality dating shows, reading far less terrible books, woodworking, hiking, and crafting with yarn.
