About My Clients
While I love working with clients of any identity, the vast majority of my clients are queer and/or neurodivergent as these are my specialty areas as a therapist. I love helping clients figure out more about themselves, their identities, and their values through our work together. Supporting you is my dream job, and I feel very passionate about this work! My ideal client is someone who is willing to put in real work to heal and grow, but who can also have fun with the process.
My Background and Approach
In addition to my lived experiences as a queer person, I have extensive experience and training in LGBTQ+ care as a therapist, including gender affirming care, polyamory, and kink. Before starting my private practice, I was the clinical director of an LGBTQ+ specialty team at a large community mental health agency where I supervised a team of clinicians who specialized in supporting queer clients. After having a child, I decided to start my own practice for my work-life-balance, but I continue to bring my passion and expertise to every client I work with. The primary therapeutic modality I utilize is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) which teaches clients how to relate to their thoughts and feelings in a more helpful way and live a life that aligns with their values.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am openly queer and very involved in the local queer community. It brings me joy to take pride in who I am and I often feel seen and understood best by other queer people. While I feel lucky to truly love my career, my very favorite job is being a mom to my young child. When not working or spending time with my kid, I enjoy a wide range of creative hobbies including reading, birding, photography, playing guitar, making art, and singing in a queer choir. I am open about my liberal political beliefs and I will never discourage political topics during sessions. I recognize that part of supporting diverse clients is making space for discussions around privilege, intersectionality, and systems of oppression. I have a deep love of learning and try to remain humble and curious to what life can teach me. I believe human connection is what makes life most meaningful.
