About My Clients

I enjoy working with motivated individuals willing to take healthy risks to better their lives. My typical client may identify themselves as "a people pleaser," "the strong friend," "the reliable one," and struggle to identify and address their own needs. If you're here, you may recognize the need to change and adjust your relationships accordingly. Change is hard... And if you're ready to take the steps, I am ready to support you in figuring out the best methods to make it happen.

My Background and Approach

My goal is to help create a supportive space for you to discover and develop the skills needed to lead a more fulfilling life. I approach therapy from a psychodynamic, person-centered approach that explores your lived experience and how this may contribute to current challenges. I offer elements from CBT, DBT, positive psychology, and self-compassion to support skill building in pursuit of client-identified, individualized goals. I have experience working with individuals in inpatient psychiatric treatment, long term residential treatment, and outpatient treatment. I have supported folks with a variety of diagnoses, and currently focus on individuals with depression, anxiety, adjustment to change and associated grief, and stress. I have experience providing both traditional verbal psychotherapy approaches as well as art psychotherapy approaches.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that each individual has the skills needed to succeed in life. I believe that while you may not be responsible for your challenges, you are responsible for how you move forward. I believe in the power of gratitude and optimism, and have seen the benefits these have had on my own life. I know what it is like to acknowledge and navigate challenges with mental health - I have been there and I remain active in my own therapy as a way to care for myself. For this reason, I have also been active in movements that support suicide prevention and education. Recently, I have begun volunteering at my local animal shelter and I enjoy creating my own artwork in my free time.
