I have been a facilitator at Our House Grief Support center for about two years. I believe our society is disconnected from death which makes it harder to cope with grief. Grief is something that never goes away but soothes over time. It is important to honor our loved ones in the work and keep connections with them even after death. Grief is all the thoughts and feelings someone has when someone dies and all feelings that come of it are validated.

Many times people who come to therapy are one of the strongest people in the family. Sometimes individuals come in to cope with family conflict but I also am welcoming to invite the family into the session. Family is complicated because in many ways we can love them but they can also cause suffering. I think it is helpful to explore the bigger picture into why families can go through strains or distress.

Life has demands which make many people feel overwhelmed, frustrated, unworthy, and/or isolated. We are often told messages on how we should handle issues, behave, look, and feel. Many times we often lose touch with who we are and stick with the negative stories of "I'm not good enough". In my practice, I bring forth a collaborative and supportive environment. I also help empower people by exploring power dynamics and shine a light on their values.

Mindfulness means being in the present moment. Often we can lose track of the little things happening in the moment and we get caught up in the content. I believe our minds and bodies are connected. Problems can often cause us physical discomfort as well. For example, anxiety may cause a tight chest and a headache for an individual. In sessions, i’ll ask what sensations are coming up when I notice tension. allows people to slow down and regulate their minds and bodies. Clients gain a sense

Many people's ways to express connection and love are heavily influenced by the way they have grown up by caregivers. Even as an adult, there are ways to heal the child inside that never fully got the love they needed. I can help identify what needs the client has in order to strive for a more secure attachment with others in their present life.

I use a modality called Brainspotting. This is highly effective in reducing symptoms like anxiety, panic, and depression. Using a relational approach, and Somatic Psychotherapy, we take time to explore what's happening with you internally (in your nervous system) so you can learn how to stay calm and "regulated" when you feel triggered.

I am a certified Brainspotting Practioner. This is an effective deep brain-based modality that helps heal what traditional talk therapy can't such as trauma, developmental trauma, and performance issues. I do a comprehensive intake to assess issues and goals to help reduce symptoms.
