About My Clients
I have over 15 years of experience providing therapy to children and adults for various issues, including trauma, anxiety, depression, stress. I'm open to seeing young children, families, adolescents and adults. I am skilled in play therapy, family therapy, trauma therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. I believe in integrating body and mind and incorporate skills I have learned in restorative yoga and trauma informed yoga trainings. I tailor each approach to the client and their needs.
My Background and Approach
My approach is rooted in compassionate curiosity, partnership, and providing a safe and supportive space for clients to build confidence, express emotions, address problems and learn new skills. Whether helping children and parents learn to manage big feelings and challenging behaviors or helping adults sort through all the challenges of being a human in this world, I love partnering with others on their healing journey. I love this work and look forward to getting to know each new client. Former clients have remarked on my kindness, calm energy, and welcoming environment. I am available for clinical supervision as well, and integrate embodiment and stress management into my supervision work.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I deeply value compassion, authenticity, judgement free curiosity, and showing kindness and support to others. I also value social justice and integrating that into my therapeutic approach--that's why I went to social work. I view my clients and myself in the context of social location and welcome conversation about how racism, discrimination, and societal inequities impact mental health. I am involved in a local racial justice group and strive to incorporate antiracism into my therapy and supervision. I also strive to promote equitable access to mental health care. I have a lot of experience providing therapy for everyone from young children to adults but have also experienced the other side--going though periods of depression and loss myself. I believe this only adds to my capacity for empathy and understanding. I also love supervising and supporting other social workers! Please reach out if you want to learn more.
