I favor CBT-focused techniques (thoughts +feelings+behaviors) with elements of neurobiology and psycholinguistics, or, the analysis of what words mean and how we use them. I embrace discomfort, which allows for growth, and rely heavily on skill work especially in regards to communication and coping. I help clients look at patterns in thoughts, feelings, and behavior so that we can break them. I am trauma knowledgeable, kink knowledgeable, and ethical non-monogamy knowledgeable, which means when you share space with me, the only thing you'll need to teach me about is yourself.

I look at therapy like this: the two of us stand together at the beginning of a road. You're the bricklayer. I'm the person handing you the bricks. You create and choose where your path leads, and occasionally I offer up directions to consider. Your road gets smoother and smoother as you get better at laying the bricks. We build your map a session at a time, until you feel like you've made the road long enough and are comfortable walking it alone. As a therapist, I acknowledge that I'm impacted and influenced by my experiences, choices, and values which include: I consider myself heterosexual and biromantic; I am actively polyamorous; I am active in the kink scene; I am a survivor of complex emotional trauma, and have GAD, MDD, and CPTSD; I come from a middle class background; I am a U.S. citizen; I am plus-sized; I am the child of a military father; I am a very proud cat mom. I believe that Black Lives Matter; masks save lives; and trans rights are human rights.
