About My Clients

I firmly believe in the inherent dignity and worth of every human being and this guides my practice. Working with me, you will find yourself empowered to take the lead in your own therapy with the support and gentle reflection of your therapist. As we collaboratively build your treatment goals, we will work together to determine what types of intervention and support will best help you reach those goals. I look forward to walking alongside you on this journey.

My Background and Approach

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and am always searching for opportunities to use this powerful tool to support clients in living their fullest life. I also utilize motivational interviewing, mindfulness, person-centered therapy, psychoeducation, and a variety of other tools to support my patients. I have experience diagnosing and treating substance use disorders and related concerns. When it comes to addressing substance use, I want to meet my patients where they are. This can mean exploring total abstinence, connecting with peer supports, or pursuing a harm reduction approach to use. I work with my patient to determine the best plan for them as an individual.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I want therapy to be a space that you can come and feel safe, welcome, and cared for. The world can feel very heavy right now, and I think most of us are needing a little extra support. I believe in seeing and treating each patient as an individual. I like to use humor and common interests to connect as people, not just as therapist and patient. When we work together, you can expect to be treated with unconditional positive regard and respect. A big reason why I pursued a career in social work is the emphasis on social justice, service, and honoring the dignity and worth of all human beings that is written into our professional code of ethics. It is important to me to uphold these values, both in my personal life and in every therapy session. If you're interested in learning more about how I bring these values into my work, feel free to contact me directly.
