About My Clients
I serve and advocate for neurodivergent children, teens, and young adults who at times feel like the outside world doesn't relate to them or understand them on a fundamental level. In therapy, it's important to be your true authentic self. I meet my clients exactly where they at. The therapeutic relationship is of utmost importance to me. I work with my clients to help them feel their feelings, self-advocate, process emotions, uncover their true identities, and improve their overall self-esteem.
My Background and Approach
I have experience working with neurodivergent individuals across the lifespan and in a variety of settings including inpatient residential, home-based therapies, community mental health, and in private practice. My goal is to meet each client where they're at in a way that is unique to them, and offer supportive, affirmative care while incorporating individual interests and needs into therapy. I incorporate an eclectic approach to therapy and utilize play-based CBT, ACT, person-centered, narrative, and relational therapies.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in authenticity. It's exhausting not being able to show others who we truly are. Hiding our true selves from the world can lead us to feel fatigued, anxious, depressed, and more. I am not only a therapist, but I am a diagnostician, advocate, and educator for neurodiverse populations. I wear many metaphorical "hats" in this field to try to make the community a more accepting and safe place for neurodiverse individuals who may be seen as being "different" from the majority culture.
