About My Clients

I understand that change can be scary, relationships can be hard, anxiety can feel heavy, and it can be a real challenge to communicate needs and boundaries. I also know how joyful, bright, and happy life can be, even in the face of inevitable pain and hardship. My mission is to help my clients live as their best selves through mind, body, and soul connection. I aim to help my clients connect to authenticity, compassion, self-love, and empowerment - to live fulfilling, meaningful lives.

My Background and Approach

I have found repeatedly that in the face of pain, change and transition, anxiety, and sadness, there are numerous things that can help. I aim to integrate these areas into a holistic therapeutic approach. Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) are two well-supported approaches that I commonly include in therapy. I have many years of experience using CBT and ACT with individuals and couples in various settings including counseling centers and hospitals. CBT and ACT can provide many skills and strategies that can help people manage anxiety, lessen depressive symptoms, and re-engage with a meaningful life. In the past few years, I have also gravitated to the power of mindfulness and self-compassion. The teachings and skills of mindfulness and self-compassion can show us a different way to relate to pain and suffering - with kindness and love rather than struggle and criticism. Overall, I aim to individualize therapy to your unique needs. PSY 31513.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I highly value a holistic approach to therapy, and I encourage my clients to bring their mind, body, and soul to the therapeutic space. I believe that our opportunity for personal growth and optimal well-being is greatest when our mind, body, and soul are equally nurtured. This means that therapy may include some things that you may not traditionally expect, such as mindfulness or self-compassion. In addition, I am a certified yoga teacher and if it is right for you, we may explore the use of spirituality, seated yoga postures, or mantras in therapy. I also see great therapeutic potential in the power of movement. This is why I offer "walk-n-talk" appointments, where we may hold sessions in nature or while walking outside rather than on telehealth. My aim is to find how holistic care can best serve you and your needs. I hope to have the opportunity to speak with you more.
