About My Clients
I provide Individual therapy for ages 12+ in-person at Care’s Lake Elmo location and at Calming Currents in Hudson, and via telehealth for individuals located anywhere in MN and WI.
My Background and Approach
I believe healing begins with feeling genuinely seen, understood, and accepted. As a queer and disabled clinician, I understand the impact identity and lived experiences have on mental health. I strive to create an affirming, accommodating space where clients of all backgrounds, particularly those from marginalized communities, feel safe exploring who they are and moving toward meaningful change. My approach is rooted primarily in feminist, psychodynamic, and existential therapies, while also drawing from evidence-based methods, including eclectic skill-work and creative techniques.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a queer and disabled person, I strive to create an environment that is accommodating. While I am unable to fully comprehend the marginalization faced by BIPOC communities, I make efforts to learn, develop deeper understanding of privileges granted by my whiteness, and de-center myself in BIPOC spaces. I am an avid supporter of Black Lives Matter, Trans rights, Abolish ICE, Land Back, and Freedom for Palestine. I am knowledgeable in polyamory and kink-positive, and work under the "Health at Any Size" model. I try to advocate for my clients whenever I can, and am actively working to make Care Counseling a more accessible place for people with disabilities. I encourage exploration of political issues that affect my clients in the therapy space.
