About My Clients

Are you overwhelmed by expectations and caring for others? Are you struggling to navigate a change, such as a new job or the ending of a relationship? Are you having difficulty coping with pregnancy or overwhelming feelings postpartum? I help women navigate stressful moments in life and challenging transitions. Life can be messy and unpredictable. I use my background to help my clients make sense of the chaos, build practical coping tools, and find a healthier path forward.

My Background and Approach

My approach is influenced by my education from an all women's college, experience in community mental health and case management, and my personal life as a woman and mother. I am interested in the way systemic oppression, power dynamics, and intersecting identities influence our mental health. I work with my clients to examine and challenge these outside factors and their influence on internal thoughts and feelings, and make sure you don't carry the blame. I use an eclectic approach drawing from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). I have found that these modalities help my clients to develop deep insight and create lasting change that extend beyond our time together.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Every person is unique and that should be reflected in the therapy process. You’ll find that therapy with me is collaborative, authentic, and relational. I believe that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to support you in navigating its challenges. I also recognize that everyone is busy and you don't want therapy to be another thing on your to-do list. My hope is to not only give you a safe and validating space to process your emotions, but to give you effective skills to cope with your life experiences so that one day you feel like you don’t "need" therapy anymore. Whether this is your first time exploring therapy, or you’ve been in therapy before, I invite you to schedule a free consultation so we can discuss how I may be able to help you.
