My Background and Approach
I am a dedicated African American Marriage and Family Therapist Associate with a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from The University of Alabama and a Bachelor’s in Child and Family Sciences from The University of Southern Mississippi. Trained in Narrative Therapy, Bowenian, CBT, Discernment Counseling, Sandtray, and Theraplay, I tailor sessions to meet each client’s needs. My background allows me to support clients navigating anxiety, relationship issues, life transitions, identity, and teen challenges. I create a culturally affirming, collaborative space where clients feel safe to explore, heal, and grow. With warmth, humor, and intention, I guide individuals, couples, and families toward meaningful change and deeper connection.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a proud African American woman and Southern native, I value authenticity, cultural representation, and creating inclusive spaces where clients feel seen and heard. I’m passionate about breaking the stigma around mental health in BIPOC communities and supporting clients through life’s transitions with compassion and care. I support movements like Black Lives Matter and advocate for equity, mental wellness, and family healing.
