About My Clients
I see people throughout the life span. My work centers around the idea that each client is unique and has individual needs and goals. Thus, therapy will look different for everyone. With all my clients, I create a safe and warm environment where people can be themselves and express themselves freely. I have experience supporting neurodiversity, OCD, PMDD, anxiety, HSP, chronic pain, dyslexia, substance use, and trauma.
My Background and Approach
I received a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Somatic Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. Once I graduated, I began my counseling career at the Center for Somatic psychotherapy in San Francisco, where I provided mindfulness-based Somatic psychotherapy therapy to a diverse population of individuals. My approach to therapy is intuitive and eclectic. I consider myself a holistic therapist, meaning I work with a client’s whole being (mind, body, & soul). As a trained Somatic therapist, I encourage clients to listen to the wisdom of their bodies. My work is mindfulness-based, relational, and experiential. As your therapist, I’m going to hold space for whatever comes up in session and acknowledge all that you have been through—and survived. Therapy is a collaborative process. Together we will practice new tools to help you explore your emotions, process through tough or traumatic past experiences, and learn healthy ways to cope.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It’s my philosophy, that each of us has an internal “wise self” that already intuitively knows how to heal, how to move towards health, growth, and self-actualization. I also believe that this wisdom comes from our bodies. The problem is, we forget how to listen and how to interpret it. So unprocessed trauma and painful emotional experiences take form as psychical pain, anxiety, inflammation, and other illnesses. As a somatic therapist, I help you to befriend your body and learn how to tune back in and listen to your wise self and all the wisdom you hold.
