About My Clients

I've found that, no matter the diagnosis, my clients are often struggling with being present in their lives in meaningful ways. They might worry so much about the future that they lie awake at night or miss out on special moments with their partners, kids, or friends. They feel overwhelmed or unmotivated and end up spending time on their phones (or any screen) instead of getting active, participating in advocacy, or picking up a fun hobby. The common denominator is that my clients feel "stuck."

My Background and Approach

I have a Master's degree in Social Work and I am in private practice full-time. Prior to therapy, I worked in hospital systems helping patients and families navigate resources and support. I specialize in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness. I also hold a Horticultural Therapy Certificate. Populations I've worked with include healthcare providers/first responders, military-connected individuals, folks in the veterinary field, new moms, college students, individuals going through divorce, young professionals, and the LGBTQIA+ community. Our work together will be centered around what you want to focus on in your life. Just like personal training, I'll often give you exercises or skills to practice outside of our sessions so you can get the most out of our time together. My hope is that you'll have all the confidence and skills to navigate your life that therapy eventually becomes obsolete (with the flexibility to return when you need to).

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My decision to become a social worker/therapist is deeply rooted in my own desire to have my personal and professional lives align as much as possible. Here are some ways I do that: I grew up Catholic and currently identify as an atheist. I'm happy and comfortable bringing in or keeping out your personal religion/spiritual beliefs in session. I have experience working with survivors of domestic/dating violence and sexual assault. I support reproductive justice and the right to choose (Women's Studies major here!). I experimented with veganism but I'm currently a vegetarian and primarily cook gluten-free. I believe in the restorative power of nature and strongly support environmental justice. I have two rescue dogs!
