About My Clients
Whether you are working through a specific life event, life long behavior patterns, experiencing life changes or have a child learning new emotions; these experiences can be challenging leaving us overwhelmed, unprepared and frustrated. My approach is client-centered and down-to-earth incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems, solution-focused, and trauma-focused modalities.
My Background and Approach
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a short-term, goal-oriented form of psychotherapy that helps people identify and change unhelpful patterns in their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This method embraces a client centered approach that tailors therapy to specific patterns contributing to symptoms. With consistent work clients are able to see a gradual lifting of symptoms in 4-8 weeks and sustained improvement thereafter. I work with clients of all ages to process emotions, rebuild relationships, process big transitions and develop effective in the moment coping tools. Resilience, growth and confidence start here. I believe deeply in the power of relationships — not the picture-perfect kind, but the real, messy, meaningful kind that shape who we are. When we start to communicate, set boundaries, and create structure, healing often follows in ways that surprise us. Therapy can be a place to refill your tank, to reconnect with yourself, and to rediscover hope.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I collaborated on and developed the Ranch Connect program to support trauma impacted teens and youth in the ranch environment to support resilience and confidence through hard work and hands on experiences. I am nationally and internationally published for my research on Burnout, Compassion Fatigue and Vicarious Trauma in First Responders and am a trained Synergetic Play Therapist for children and families. Outside of the office I am an Equine Therapist in Sedalia, Colorado and enjoy spending time with my family and animals on the ranch.
