Trauma therapy encourages sensitivity to trauma and how trauma connects to your current challenges and symptoms. This approach integrates talk therapy with nervous system states and neuroscience. Understanding why your brain and body do what they do helps you to increase your self-compassion and understanding. Once you are aware of what you're working with, you can create long-lasting change.

This approach places importance on childhood and early experiences. We all receive messages from our parents, family, and home during our upbringings. These messages tell us what to believe about ourselves, other people, and the world. Sometimes these messages are helpful and healthy, sometimes not. We will examine these experiences and how they impact you now.

Solutions help us to get unstuck and focus our energy on making direct changes to reach our goals now and in the future. It does not focus on the past or the problems. This approach emphasizes goal setting, solution finding, reflection, and gradually taking steps towards your desired future.

Depression includes symptoms like depressed mood, crying spells, fatigue/low energy, lack of motivation, sleep problems, feeling bad about yourself, and at times self-harm and/or suicidal thoughts. Through a nervous-system perspective, your body is using depression to try and tell you something. Let's figure out what the message is so we can do something about it.

Anxiety symptoms fall on a spectrum, from low and manageable, to high and needing support. Often, women in school and careers report functional anxiety: it's there but you can still push through the days. Through a nervous-system perspective, your mind and body are basically stuck on overdrive. With support, you can address the spiraling thoughts and also learn to calm your entire system.

Physical/medical aspects can include hormone imbalance, menopause, infertility, Endometriosis, Adenomyosis, PCOS, etc. No matter what you classify as "woman specific issues" the bottom line is you deserve support through it all. In my work, women's issues relates to balancing all the roles women maintain (worker, student, wife, partner, mom, daughter, sister, etc.) in a way that allows for success and happiness. This also includes unique health factors, such as depression, anxiety, but also hormonal imbalances, Endometriosis, PCOS and other connections between physical health and mental health. As a woman, I understand the importance that womanhood has on a journey to healing.
