Do you find yourself surprised by your strong emotional reactions? Are you caught off guard by intense difficult emotions? Or, do you often feel insecure and needy? I offer understanding and relief from the anxiety and anger you are experiencing.
My Background and Approach
You don't have to be embarrassed about your anxiety or anger. I offer a warm, engaged and non-judgmental space for you to share your feelings. To be human is to need safe connections. As most emotional suffering originates in relationships, it is not surprising then that a healing relationship with a therapist goes a long way to offering relief. It’s hard to make changes alone, or to think your way out of habitual patterns of relating to yourself and others. Often times, we aren’t aware of how much there is to discover until we are struggling with a transition, feeling overwhelmed or stuck by present day challenges or previous traumas. Positive change can happen in the context of a genuine and open connection. I will support you to sort through your relationships, past and present, and understand how you have been shaped by them so that you may live more freely. As we work together you will experience less anxiety and anger and more peace and security.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I became a therapist because in our society there are not enough places for us to be accepted, to feel completely safe, and to slow-down in order to reflect on how we want to exist in our precious life. My wish is to promote in my clients the belief in their inherent capacity to transcend their own unique, historical, social and psychological experience. I am always grateful and honored when another human shares their life story with me. I've spent much of my practice understanding trauma and how it manifests in relationships.
