Burnout is an issue that seems to creep up on us when we least expect it. Let's work together to identify the areas of life that are adding to the burnout and subtracting from your capacity to function in areas where you want to be present. After that is done, we can work to practice the necessary boundaries to limit burnout.
Depression can sometimes be a lonely and very silent diagnosis. It is has been my experience that addressing the symptoms takes work inside and outside the therapy office. Addressing the relationship between the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors can sometime be key in developing a game plan.
Mindfulness is a wonderful way to take a pause and reconnect with the body. If it seems like and individual is "running ahead of themselves" I will engage them in techniques to call them back to themselves. I like to use tools that are also available to individuals outside of session, so expect homework!
CBT is what I utilize for a majority of my clients. Conquering your thoughts is sometimes a major battle. Let's work to identify your thought patterns and how they work to keep you in a place you don't want to be. It is not an overnight process as it took a sometime to develop negative thinking patterns.
