About My Clients
Many of my clients identify as "people pleasers", and say they feel stuck in a difficult relationship with their family and/or partner. They may struggle setting boundaries and have a history of abandoning themselves in order to "keep the peace" with others. Some grew up in erratic or dysfunctional families where "walking on eggshells" was common and familiar. As adults, they have learned to tolerate dysfunction and may subconsciously select partners who are similarly invalidating and defensive.
My Background and Approach
Together, we will learn to identify these parts, set boundaries and heal interpersonal trauma. My approach is trauma-informed and relational, and my style is conversational and warm. You can expect me to facilitate a safe space for you to do the work. I welcome and bring along humor, respect and curiosity. Most of all, I am captured by the stories people share and use them to help clients understand their lives in greater detail and context. I have experience working with adults, couples and parents and hold a special interest in working with those exploring relational and attachment wounds (trauma) and women navigating motherhood. I support those wanting relief from anger, relationship challenges, hopelessness, trauma and life transitions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My work with clients is informed by Internal Family Systems model and developmental trauma approaches as well as Narrative Therapy. My approach is laid back, conversational, informal, and often uses a lot of humor.
