About My Clients
My clients are individuals trying to make sense of their experiences, both internal and external. Although each person has a unique story, most of my clients seek to find congruence within their bodies, their relationships, and in the world around them. Whether it's their own internal processing or a series of painful events: something has led them to question themselves, their beliefs, and their experiences of meaning. I walk alongside these brave souls to help them find a sense of integration.
My Background and Approach
I came into the world of counseling by calling- not by choice. It was (is) an uncomfortable call that beckons me to tap into my own suffering, grief, pain, and anxiety. And yet- I daily choose this call, as it is the highest privilege and honor to be with those who find their way into my office. I don't pretend to know your story or exactly what has led up to this point in your life. I won't claim to understand your circumstances, upbringing, or the exact nature of your experiences. However, I do claim that I will- be it ever so imperfectly- seek to be with you as you sort through the complexities of your human experience. In turn, I hope that by offering and extending my humanity to you and with you, that you will accept the invitation to embrace your own. As for a more clinical description of what I do: My approach is eclectic, including Narrative Therapy, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), IFS (Internal Family Systems), Sensorimotor Therapy, and Attached-Based interventions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Throughout my calling as a counselor, I have been a fierce advocate for a solid partnership between spiritual communities, the mental health profession, and a holistic understanding of the role of the body in mental health, theology, and healing. My clinical work includes facilitating trauma-informed yoga groups for women seeking to find healing in their bodies and in their spirituality and partnering with churches to facilitate psychoeducational groups regarding the intersection of mental health and spirituality.
