About My Clients
My clients come to me because they are struggling with relationships, whether with their spouse, children, parents, or even with their coworkers. They may be experiencing heightened anxiety due to pending divorce or separation, or may be trying to recover their identity after ending a relationship that was filled with turmoil. I specialize in helping people take back their lives and create room for them to be fully themselves.
My Background and Approach
As a counselor, I have received specialized training in infant and early childhood mental health, attachment and relational issues, healthy communication and relationship building, trauma informed care, and have a certificate in cognitive behavioral therapy for children and adolescents with ADHD, anxiety, and depression. My work experience in the counselor role includes working in a primary health care setting seeing patients of all ages, and as a school based therapist working with primary and elementary aged children. I use a strength based approach focusing on building the child’s capacity to build healthy attachment, learn emotional regulation, and to help the child reach the goals they and their caregivers desire for them. The modality I employ varies by client and need, and may be based in play, creative expression, cognitive behavioral, narrative, and often is a mix of any of these. My approach is always trauma informed and client centered.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My belief is that every individual deserves to be loved, supported, and given the chance to develop to their full potential. That includes having healthy and loving relationships, being in touch with and living their values, and being able to make decisions with confidence.
