About My Clients
Though I work with a range of issues, and all ages, I also specialize in LGBTQ+ issues, identity development (from trans identity to transition age youth and young professionals), and parenting skills. I try to be skills focused and work with people who are motivated to make changes in their own life, so that your every day can look more like you want it to. I am licensed in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
My Background and Approach
This is a place of openness, realistic goal setting, and freedom to discuss the issues most important to you. I typically work with children/adolescents/young adults or parents to reach your goals. You may be struggling with a trauma history, identity development, overwhelming stress or a need for additional coping skills to just get through the day. I like to be straight forward and still compassionate, direct on issues and supportive in solutions. Together we can identify what's working, what's not and how we find the balance to support everyday functioning.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am passionate about the multicultural world that we live in and the different experiences that brings to the way we interpret our world. Having a Master's degree in Biomedical anthropology, I understand the importance of our systems, cultures and messages that we receive from our families and communities, and their significant impact on our views. I am happy to explore this with you, to understand more about how to challenge some of our beliefs that may be challenging us.
