About My Clients

Being a BIPOC child, teen, or young adult often means carrying a lot—expectations, responsibility, and pressure to succeed—while quietly navigating anxiety, self-doubt, or exhaustion. If you’ve ever felt like you have to be “strong,” grateful, or put-together no matter what’s happening inside, therapy with me offers a space to finally exhale. I provide a warm, supportive, and culturally responsive space where your experiences are understood in context—not pathologized or minimized.

My Background and Approach

I hope our work together will be collaborative and affirming, grounded in the belief that many of your struggles make sense given what you’ve had to navigate. My approach is integrative and trauma-informed, blending evidence-based practices with compassion, humor, and real conversation. I’m deeply committed to supporting BIPOC and marginalized communities and creating a space where you don’t have to over-explain, code-switch, or carry everything alone. Many of my clients are high-achieving, deeply caring, and used to being “the responsible one,” yet feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of themselves. Therapy can be a place where you’re allowed to focus on you—without guilt. With a background in Child Development and school-based mental health, I bring a deep understanding of how early life experiences, cultural expectations, and systemic stressors continue to impact us into adulthood.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe mental health care should be accessible, affirming, and free from stigma. I am deeply passionate about creating spaces where people, especially those from historically marginalized and unheard communities, feel seen, valued, and empowered to share their stories. I am committed to uplifting the Black community while standing in solidarity with all marginalized populations, including immigrants and first-generation individuals who often navigate systems not built with them in mind. Racial equity, immigrant rights, and social justice are not separate from mental health; they are central to it. I believe healing happens when voices are honored, cultural experiences are respected, and people are supported without judgment. Everyone deserves compassionate care and the opportunity to be heard.
