I can help you learn to face your problems and overcome them. Together we will improve your coping skills and challenge negative thoughts that keep you stuck. You can feel empowered to meet the challenges of life.
My Background and Approach
I use a combination of CBT, EMDR, Mindfulness, and regular talk therapy to meet the needs of my clients. I am a Muslim of South Asian descent, but I work with clients of various backgrounds. I have a special place in my heart for working with first and second generation Americans. I understand how hard it can be as the child of an immigrant, feeling caught between two worlds and feeling like you don’t fit in either. I also used to be a therapist at a student counseling center on a college campus, so I have a special understanding of the needs of college students and Young Adults. Some other special groups I have had the privilege of working with include aspiring medical professionals, and teachers.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I spend a lot of time volunteering with various organizations that work on improving access for mental health treatment in the Muslim Community. I believe that quality mental health treatment should be available for everyone!
