About My Clients
Sometimes patterns that kept us safe in our past no longer serve us in the present. Maybe you had to avoid vulnerability at all costs to get through and survive a tough situation, but now you feel like you can't let those walls down. Maybe you felt that you had to be the caretaker and hold everything together, but now you find yourself struggling to find the motivation for day-to-day challenges. Sometimes these patterns are the echoes of trauma.
My Background and Approach
Therapy should consist of helping you learn the tools you need to self-regulate and understand your patterns, whether those patterns are chronic periods of hyperarousal (reactivity, impulsivity, etc.) or hypoarousal (dissociation, feeling shut down, etc.) With nearly ten years of experience in the field using trauma-informed approaches, I am confident that I can serve as a guide to help you gain better insight into these patterns and how to manage them.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I like to believe that we never stop learning or improving. I try to take this hopeful attitude into the therapy room as well as into my personal life. When we embrace this growth-mindset, we can prevent ourselves from becoming overwhelmed by our current situation or limitations and instead focus on where we're going, how we can continue to grow, etc. A little about me: I was raised in a bicultural home as an Army brat and was fortunate enough to live in a lot of really incredible places abroad and stateside. When I'm not providing therapy or spending time with family, you can probably catch me tending my fish tanks.
