About My Clients
You are usually the one holding everything together for everyone else. You’ve become an expert at the hyper-independence, perfectionism, and chronic self-criticism you had to develop to simply survive. You don't need someone to passively nod at you; you need someone in your corner for once, who isn't afraid of the messy parts. My clinical focus is on the space where your traumatic experiences, attachment wounds, and present identity intersect.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor in Georgia, and am currently under supervision. As a Central Asian immigrant and bilingual English/Russian speaker, I understand firsthand what it means to navigate complex identities and the exhausting pressure of expectations. My clinical background also includes working in psychiatric crisis care, which taught me not to flinch when things get dark and complicated. When I am not in the office, I teach psychology in higher education.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I do not believe in toxic positivity, corporate platitudes, or forced optimism. You cannot outsmart a nervous system that is stuck in survival mode, and I will never ask you to try. I believe therapy should be straightforward, unpretentious, and deeply human. If getting you grounded and feeling safe means we ditch the chairs and spend the entire session sitting on the floor, then that is exactly what we will do. You do not need to have it all figured out before you walk in, and you certainly don't need a polished narrative. You just need to be exhausted enough by your current patterns to try something different.
