About My Clients

Are you the one others rely on? Do you feel pressure to constantly have it all together, but inside you're tired of dealing with anxiety, dread, imposture syndrome, and perfectionism? I work with South Asian/BIPOC/ LGBTQIA+ adults who have learned to take care of others' needs while their own fall short, and that love and self worth are tied to one's achievement and ability to please others. Many carry guilt for wanting something different, or grieve a version of themselves they never got to be.

How I Can Help You

You don't have to have it all together- let therapy be a space where you take a second to breathe and let it all out. We will work together to manage feelings of overwhelm, dread, racing thoughts, and physical symptoms so you feel more in control to manage your anxiety and feel improvement in your day to day. We can untangle familial and cultural expectations and pressures to find yourself again- you are allowed to put yourself first and separate self worth from merit or obedience, and set boundaries without feeling guilty. We can explore challenging relationships in your life so you feel confident expressing yourself and have effective communication and conflict resolution. Overall, we can work together to navigate your specific goals in your mental health journey so that you feel equipped with tools to get through the challenging moments of life.

More About the People I Treat

Many of my clients hear phrases like "what will people say", "you have to work twice as hard to get half as far", "family comes first", or "strong people don't complain". This can shape many aspects of your life: your career, relationships, self worth, emotional wellbeing. A lot of my clients have found ways to cope on the outside, but with themselves as the expense. Maybe therapy was not welcomed growing up, mental health was a taboo topic, or resources were not available. Or, maybe you worry that going to therapy means you've failed or you're doing something wrong. Therapy can be confusing, exhausting, and even scary-- my approach makes it so that it doesn't have to be. I want you to be comfortable bringing your authentic self to session and I feel confident that I can meet you with compassion and understanding. If this sounds like a good fit and you'd like to learn more about working together, please feel free to reach out to me.
