About My Clients
Change is the only constant thing in our lives. Sometimes they can be overwhelming and difficult to manage. How we feel about change is dependent on the situation, but it is important to remember that all changes (good or bad) are an opportunity for growth. Life is all about choices and most often, what makes change overwhelming is that we believe we have limited choices. As a therapist, I want to help you process your thoughts and emotions, identify your choices, and help you grow.
My Background and Approach
I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with a master's degree in applied psychological sciences from Pacific University. I invest my time in developing a relationship with my clients that is built on trust and creating a safe environment that is free of judgment. I implement mindfulness skills, healthy relationships, family communication skills, and self-acceptance depending on what my client is comfortable with. In addition, I consider my client’s cultural background and integrate important aspects into therapy as needed.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe positive change is possible for everyone. Our traumas do not define us rather we are defined by how we regulate ourselves after experiencing trauma. At the same time, not all change needs to be a traumatic experience with the right coping skills and tools. If you are ready for self-growth, therapy can be the first step.
