About My Clients
As a therapist, I have deep appreciation of working with diverse populations throughout my career. My comprehensive clinical practice includes: from Persons coping with complex medical issues and kiddos trying to find their way in this world, to individuals attempting to understand their identity and cope with the world oppressing them, to ordinary people feeling stuck and overwhelmed. I also have continued experience working with First Responders /Front Liners during CV-19, reduce rates.
My Background and Approach
As a Clinical Gender Therapist, I have over 70-credit hours devoted to this certification. Those needing gender affirmative intervention letters(surgery, HRT, ..), 2nd for letters - I will provide these for you. I also provide consultation for providers working with patients. I hold certifications in Mindfulness meditation, and Trauma-affirmative approaches to reduce pain, suffering, and emotional distress. For past 5-yrs, I have been working with thrive-rs of Chronic illness and complex medical issues. My framework consists of: Psychodynamic/Interpersonal, CBT, and Life Course Approaches with the sensitivity drawn toward Trauma Informed Therapy practices. Ryan has led an initiative to enhance Mentorship for the counselor-hood profession seeking to serve the both the LGBTQIA community, and more specific the TGNCNB community, by providing internship positions: from co-facilitating psychotherapy groups, development of psychotherapy group content and assistance on training projects
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have been invited and sit on 2 separate community advisory boards, one of which they also offer pro bono consultation services for CAB-Grassroots campaign. Co-lead an LGBTQ counselor supervision consultation group, and advise one long-term community project on accessibility in TGNC healthcare outcomes. Equally as a white therapist with an diverse service toward communities of color, I strongly acknowledge my profession and tied medical systems hold oppressive and inequitable accessibility & often forgo accountability toward racism. I am are interested in identity development, tiered Racial Gender minority stress, healthcare engagement practices for disenfranchised/marginalized populations and providers identifying as TGNC while working with patients in the community. For the past 12 years, Ryan has been an LGBT health educator and consultant.
