About My Clients
I have a passion for going beyond symptom management and facilitating healing at the deepest levels. Clients struggling in the aftermath of trauma and abuse will benefit from my services. I also work very well with those seeking greater understanding and self-awareness. I am able to combine a down-to-earth empathy with a knack for analyzing, reasoning, and problem solving in collaboration with clients.
My Background and Approach
I show the utmost respect for every person I'm privileged to support, listening curiously to each unique story without imposition or judgment. I void unnecessary diagnostic labels that fail to appreciate the uniqueness of each person and each story. I treat individuals as a person to get to know and support; not as a diagnosis to be treated. Regardless of your history, your present concerns, or your views, I will listen to you; I will not judge you. My therapeutic approach varies depending on the presenting issues and unique client goals, but I tend to work primarily from one of the following evidence-based treatment modalities: Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Regardless of the approach chosen, we will work together to rapidly achieve your therapeutic goals while ensuring your sense of safety and ability to manage the strong emotions that can surface in therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe every human life has incalculable dignity and worth. I believe life is worth living and that it can be lived well even in the midst of great adversity and pain. I don't believe that I am better than anyone I work with. I believe and profess all that the Catholic Church believes, teaches, and proclaims to be revealed by God. I don't believe in judging folks outside of my religious tradition. I believe that the truth of individual experiences varies widely and each unique perspective is worthy of respect, understanding, exploration, and empathy. I believe in objective truth, that our individual perceptions can be wrong, misguided, or distorted in some way. I believe in a moral right and wrong.
