About My Clients
I enjoy working with people of every demographic and identity expression, and I am especially passionate about working with teens and young adults, African American and multiracial individuals and families, as well as the neurodivergent community.
My Background and Approach
Since 2013, I have supported individuals working through addiction, trauma, homelessness, family conflict, domestic violence, personality disorders, and a wide variety of mental health challenges. I assist my clients in creating the life story they want to live, by building self-understanding, practicing self-acceptance, and developing their unique personal strengths. My approach to therapy is centered around collaboration, curiosity, humility, humor, and hope. I embrace an eclectic, individualized approach for each client, incorporating DBT, ACT, mindfulness, family systems, and attachment theory. For clients seeking healing from traumatic experiences, I am also trained and able to provide EMDR Therapy. I offer a safe, accepting, and encouraging space for you to bring your whole self, heal what hurts, grow past your current limitations, and move toward what matters most in your life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I received my graduate education in a specialized program focused on serving African American individuals and families as well as survivors of trauma. I chose this degree path because I wanted to be a positive force for change in the Black community, while recognizing the need for education and treatment to address the significant impact of trauma on all people in our society. I am equipped with specialized tools and strategies, including EMDR and other trauma-focused therapies, but beyond that I have a heart for promoting healing and growth for anyone touched by trauma, whether in childhood or anywhere throughout the lifespan.
