About My Clients
The people I work best with are done white-knuckling it. Some come in because their focus and follow-through have never matched their potential. Some are carrying old pain that still runs the show. Some are men who have never had a place to be honest. What they share is a quiet sense that they are capable of more connection, more steadiness, and more meaning than they are currently living. You do not have to be in crisis to come to therapy. Wanting something better is reason enough.
My Background and Approach
I hold a simple belief about the work: you study what hurts people, then you help build something that protects them from it. My approach is warm but direct. I will not sit in silence and nod for fifty minutes. We will build a real relationship, get clear on what is keeping you stuck, and use proven methods to move it. I still sit in the client chair myself in my own therapy, so I hold this process with a lot of respect for how hard and how worth it it is.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people are not problems to be fixed. You are not broken for needing help, and you are not your worst moments or your hardest diagnosis. I believe change is possible at any age, that insight without action rarely lasts, and that the relationship between us matters as much as any technique.
