About My Clients

I use a collaborative approach to create a safe and empowering environment where individuals can heal and grow. I have experience working with a wide variety of mental health concerns across diverse populations and primarily work with adults individually. My areas of specialty include working with queer and trans folks (LGBTQ+), empowering those healing from trauma, and supporting folks navigating through grief and loss.

My Background and Approach

I received my M.A. in Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University after completing my B.A. in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from American University. My capstone projects for each were related to transgender experiences and identity development as well as clinical approaches to harm reduction in therapy. While completing Postgraduate Master’s Residencies, I have worked under and learned from supervisors who specialize in relationship counseling, cultural humility, and approaching therapeutic work through a social justice and trauma-informed lens. - M.A. in Mental Health Counseling, Northwestern University, Program Accredited by CACREP - B.A. in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, American University

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Whatever brings you to therapy, know that healing and joy are possible. I take a holistic approach to well-being – helping to identify where healing is needed, highlighting your strengths, and cultivating a non-judgmental therapeutic environment. I use a combination of techniques (CBT, mindfulness, etc.) to compliment my foundational person-centered, psychodynamic, and a social justice approach. I believe that you are an expert on your own life and experiences, and by approaching the therapeutic process collaboratively while acknowledging larger systemic/environmental/cultural factors, we can work together to find a path to healing and growth.
