Being a male that never identified with stereotypical male expectations, the fluidity of gender has been an issue concept for me to grasp and understand. Couple that with my own teenager going through transition, I have the pleasure of addressing this issue both professionally and on a personal level. I pride myself on creating a judgment free, safe space for everyone to express themselves.

Having learned how to conquer my anxiety over the last 20 years of my life, coupled with my decade of experience in the field, I feel confident in saying I have techniques and interventions to help people conquer their anxiety and help ensure it no longer runs their lives. Anxiety can be a nasty monster, that lays dormant until the worst possible moment and then it pounces. With a focus on deep breathing and mindfulness, anxiety stands no chance!

Having worked with families as a TSS, a HAB aid, a family based therapist and a mobile therapist, working with families and helping them end the dynsfunctional behavior is one of my favorite things to do. Families can be complicated, as there can be numerous systems involved, but with time and effort, families can heal and reshape the way they interact with each other.

One of my theoretical cornerstones is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) because one area in the feelings/thoughts/behaviors triangle is thoughts, meaning an effective way of change the way we operate is to change our thoughts. I have read several books on CBT, attended several training, and practice CBT in my own daily life. One of the biggest CBT area related areas that I focus on in therapy is cognitive distortions, as they play a powerful role in how we interpret the world.

Clients do not live in a vacuum. They are affected by numerous systems from ones related to employment to family matters. Understanding how these different systems interact with each other and what affect that interaction has on our life can be powerful information that can lead to profound changes in understanding. By better understanding the systems in which we interact with, we can better understand what choices we have before us.

Recently, I participated in training provided from PESI that allowed me to become a certified clinical trauma professional (CCTP). This certification displays my dedication to create a trauma informed therapy style aimed to help clients heal from even the most traumatic of situations.
