About My Clients
I work with adult clients who are experiencing infertility, contemplating fertility treatments, or wanting to understand more and process their options for third party family building. I also conduct psychosocial evaluations for prospective egg donors, sperm donors, embryo donors, and gestational carriers. I work with prospective parents via gestational surrogacy and via egg/sperm/embryo donation to help them prepare for their future family and plan their best path for family building.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in psychological assessment and brief, evidence-based treatment of grief and loss, issues surrounding infertility, anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders. I also specialize in counseling around LGBTQ family building. I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Minnesota and completed internship at the Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center in 2007. Prior to working in private practice, I served as a clinical supervisor on a nationwide study of mental health. I strive to provide a warm, supportive, and accepting environment in therapy and I make use of cognitive-behavioral and mind/body techniques to help clients. I also conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations of egg donors, sperm donors, and gestational carriers.
