About My Clients
I specialize in the treatment of anxiety and depression, women’s issues, substance use/abuse, and young people who are trying to find their way. I have experience with persons who suffer from mental health diagnoses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression and anxiety and this has enabled me to understand the many forms suffering can take.
My Background and Approach
I have Bachelor of Arts degrees from Northeastern Illinois University and Master of Social Work from University of Illinois Chicago. I have worked in the nonprofit, health care and mental health fields; the latter included persons who live in long-term care facilities. I utilize a person-centered approach, based on humanistic principles, as well as various forms of cognitive, psychodynamic, and other forms of therapy, depending upon the needs of the client. Due to my social services background, I also believe it is essential to examine environmental factors such as career and family dynamics.
