About My Clients

Have your relationships left you doubting yourself, feeling overwhelmed by emotions, or looping between triggers and trauma responses despite trying so hard to break the cycle? You may be living with the effects of complex trauma or antagonistic relational stress—and for many survivors, this feels "normal," but it doesn't have to be. If you're ready to move beyond survival, you're in the right place. You are worth healing for.

My Background and Approach

I'm Dr. Ruth Gatt, a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in complex trauma, relational stress, and narcissistic abuse recovery. I work with adults navigating the aftermath of painful relational experiences—including childhood trauma, emotionally immature or narcissistic caregivers, and patterns that keep showing up in relationships no matter how hard you try to change them. My approach is body-based and deeply relational. I believe trauma isn't an intellectual problem—it lives in the emotional brain and nervous system—so I use specialized methods including Attachment-Focused EMDR, Brainspotting, IFS, and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy to work at a deeper level than insight alone. Together, we'll create a space where you can untangle confusing emotions, notice patterns to feel more grounded, learn to trust your body's wisdom, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that trauma has kept hidden or silent.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that somewhere beneath the self-doubt, the hypervigilance, and the survival patterns—you already know what you need. My job isn't to tell you what to do; it's to help you quiet the noise long enough to hear yourself again. Sometimes, this means making space for grief—and yes, that can feel louder before it feels quieter. But grief that's been bypassed doesn't disappear; it just finds other ways to show up. Learning to move through it, rather than around it, is often where the real shifts begin. Healing, to me, means learning to trust your own internal compass—especially when you've been conditioned to distrust it. When your nervous system learns that it's safe, your intuition comes back online. You start to recognize your own signals. You stop outsourcing your sense of reality to others. In sessions, I bring warmth, curiosity, directness, and deep respect for the courage it takes to do this work.
