About My Clients
My clients are motivated to deal with the roots of their distress. Some have experienced loss, suffered a traumatic incident, experienced rejection, or have chronic pain. They may have intrusive thoughts, worry, sleeplessness, anxiety, or low self-esteem. They want to move past difficulties and feel better now. I offer both short and long-term therapy. (Some clients want deep therapeutic experiences without having to commit to weekly therapy.)
My Background and Approach
Compassion and creativity have always been important to me. In 1993, a friend and I started the Delta of Venus Coffeehouse. We intended the coffeehouse to be a safe space for anyone who felt marginalized. It was a community center for food, poetry, art, love, social justice, and music. As an Attachment-Focused EMDR therapist, I'm devoted to treating mind, body, heart, and spirit. Whether you're suffering due to an accident, natural disaster, crime, or from childhood trauma or as a result of discrimination and intolerance (or due to some other source), I aim to provide a safe space where you can process your hurt and heal. I’ve been honored to work in a variety of mental health settings, including in a community clinic (Yolo Family Service Agency), several public schools in the Sacramento area, in Bereavement Services, and in my private practice since 2016. Online 50 and 90 minutes sessions available. I also offer Adjunct EMDR for those who are already seeing a therapist.
