About My Clients
I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in various levels of care including inpatient residential treatment, outpatient care, and school-based therapy. My areas of specialty include mood disorders, anxiety disorders, suicidality and self harm, substance use, survivors of trauma, LGBTQA+ populations, relationship and family system issues, and children and adolescents
My Background and Approach
I create a client-centered environment focused on building resilience and achieving goals. I use a variety of therapeutic techniques tailored to the client's needs such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, DBT techniques, mindfulness, and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy. Ruth takes a genuine and empathetic approach that focuses on your individual strengths, goals, and preferences for therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a clinician, I believe that therapy should create a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental environment that allows you to be supported through life's struggles and celebrations. I am passionate about destigmatizing mental health access and building a future where mental health treatment is recognized as an essential component of health and wellness. I believe that people are innately resilient and are often doing the best that they can with the options that they have, however, therapy can create a collaborative environment that provides clarity, coping skills, and room for change.
