I have a Doctorate degree in African American Studies, Master's degree in Counseling Psychology and Certificates in Trauma Studies and Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies. I have a lot of experience in working with women, adolescents, and the queer community. My approach towards counseling is that clients come to us when their needs are not being met. How can I help you to meet those needs? What coping skills and tools do you need in order to change your current situation? I believe that in order to meet our needs, we have to engage with our emotions and thoughts. I am skilled in using trauma-informed interventions, mindfulness techniques, self-compassion tools and acceptance and commitment therapy. I look forward to working with you!!

I am a very spiritual person. I believe that in order for us to be joyful, we have to engage with our emotions and feelings. I trust that we can not only change and grow, but thrive when we learn the tools to cope with our mental health issues. I was able to help women and adolescents with history of trauma, abuse and consequently co-occurring issues of anxiety, depression and feelings of loss in my internship and job. These were very meaningful and profound experiences for me and would love to bring my expertise into my work with you.
