About My Clients
I work with first- and second-generation Latinx adults who feel pulled between honoring their parents’ sacrifices and following their own path. Many navigate pressures from cultural and family expectations, struggle with setting boundaries, and are developing personal values shaped by both their home culture and the wider world. In therapy, we create a supportive space to explore this tension, stay connected to your roots, and help you create a more authentic life.
My Background and Approach
I have over eight years of experience working with Latinx adults and youth in outpatient and school-based settings. Many of my clients come to therapy navigating anxiety, depression, identity stress, and life transitions while balancing cultural expectations, family dynamics, and personal goals. As someone who understands the importance of culture and lived experience, I aim to create a space where you can speak openly about the pressures, values, and traditions that shape your life. In our work together, we explore how cultural messages around family, values, and identity may influence your beliefs and decisions. We also focus on developing practical tools—such as strengthening boundaries, challenging unhelpful thought patterns, and prioritizing your own needs. My goal is to help you feel more confident living in alignment with your values while staying connected to your culture.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe representation in therapy is essential. Having a therapist who understands your culture and lived experience creates a safe, supportive space. My practice focuses on how culture shapes values, decisions, and experiences. First- and second-generation Latinx clients face unique challenges, balancing life between two worlds, and I aim to provide guidance and understanding as you navigate that journey.
