About My Clients

Maybe you're replaying a betrayal you can't stop making sense of, or you're in a relationship pattern that feels painfully familiar, one you swore you'd outgrown. Maybe a shift in your life, a relationship ending, an identity you're no longer sure fits, has left you feeling like the ground moved without warning. I work with people in exactly this kind of unraveling, when the story you were living stops making sense and you're left sitting with what's underneath it.

My Background and Approach

I'm Roz Hedayatian, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Los Angeles, offering virtual sessions across California with limited in-person availability in West LA. My training draws on psychodynamic therapy, attachment theory, somatic awareness, and EMDR, which I use to help clients understand root patterns rather than manage symptoms in isolation. I approach therapy as a collaborative, honest process. I'll ask questions that invite reflection, and I won't shy away from gently naming what I notice, even when it's uncomfortable, because real change tends to start with an accurate picture of what's actually happening. Outside individual sessions, I also offer support groups for betrayal trauma. My goal in every session is to create a space that's warm without softening the truth, where clients feel met rather than managed, and where the work goes toward the root rather than just the surface.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe people don't develop the patterns they struggle with by accident — anxiety, perfectionism, difficulty trusting, they're adaptations, not dysfunction. They made sense once, often as a way of surviving something that needed surviving. I don't believe in treating symptoms as problems to eliminate; I believe in understanding what they were trying to protect and helping you build something more sustainable underneath. My work is rooted in the idea that biology and biography aren't separate stories — what's happening in your body and what's happened in your life are always in conversation with each other. I believe real change is slower and more honest than most quick-fix narratives suggest, and that depth-oriented work, done at the right pace, can genuinely shift patterns that have felt permanent. I don't believe therapy requires you to have already done extensive work on yourself before you're "ready"- showing up as you are is enough to begin.
