About My Clients
You may be navigating academic pressure, caregiver burnout, chronic illness, the internal noise of anxiety and self-doubt, chronic illness and ongoing pain, and medical complexities. I am a trauma-informed, identity-affirming therapist that works with all ages with special expertise in 65+ adults, adolescents, and adults in life transitions. I bring clarity and compassion to each session supporting clients of all ages through life’s hardest (and most transformative) moments.
My Background and Approach
I’m an EMDR-trained therapist who offers active, focused sessions, meaningful conversation, honest reflection, and well-placed challenge. We’ll map what’s hard and what you want different, then build a customized plan we revisit together. EMDR helps your nervous system reprocess stuck memories so they feel less charged. I also use CBT, DBT, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, parts-informed (IFS-inspired) work, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, plus career counseling/coaching. My care is trauma-focused and strengths-based. You’ll get regular progress check-ins and practical skills to use between sessions. I bring decades of life experience, parenting, and a second-career lens. Clients often say I a gift for validation, honest reflection, and helping them feel deeply seen. Sessions are warm, grounded, and direct; we can laugh, cry, or swear while staying safe and focused on your goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
“Therapy is like riding a rollercoaster in a grounded body. You still feel all the twists and turns, but you’re no longer flung around by them. I’m here to help you hold steady as you explore your own unique path.” I believe therapy should feel like a partnership rooted in realness. Sessions are active, honest, and focused on your goals. You can expect a balance of reflection, insight, and coaching always tailored to your capacity and needs. Outside the office, Roxie finds grounding in gardening, parenting, cooking new meals, spending time with her chickens and dogs, and advocating for equity in the community.
