About My Clients
I provide therapeutic services to individuals, families and couples with relational issues, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and relationship transitions. As a South Asian cisgender woman, who has lived across the globe, I feel incredibly passionate about supporting clients that come from diverse and various cultural backgrounds. I have worked with couples, individuals and families who have been impacted by transitional changes, trauma and oppression.
My Background and Approach
I work through an attachment lens, identifying deep seated pain and wounds that occur during childhood and are carried across through adult relationships. I specialize in individuals, couples and families where unproductive narratives and intergenerational trauma govern the client's world view and ways of showing up in their world. I think change can happen in the present through the formation of new narratives and perspectives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe the problem lies in the system (as opposed to an individual). As an advocate for social justice I practice from a nonjudgemental stance and view all the components of culture, gender, race, immigration, intergenerational traumas, spirituality/religion and their impact on our mental and emotional well being. Taking the first step towards committing to therapy can be overwhelming but once we embark on our journey together, the process of consent is ongoing and you choose how you utilize your time. As a collaborative therapist, I look forward to supporting you and growing with you.
