About My Clients

I serve adult individuals who are both curious about their healing journey and ready for change. Over the years, I have worked with clients who collectively hold a variety of identities, ages, genders, sexual orientations, abilities, and cultures. My clients tend to have experienced childhood trauma, attachment wounding, complex-PTSD, anxiety, depression, neurodiversity, relational concerns, and life transitions. Some are also hoping to deepen their spiritual practice or connection to Nature.

My Background and Approach

I believe that healing happens through connection. The therapeutic relationship is the medium through which we will practice communication, honesty, authenticity, vulnerability, safety, compassion, and mindful presence with one another. I believe that you, the client, are the expert of your own experience, and together we will curiously explore your emotional, physical, and spiritual experiences with intention. I align with Compassion Focused Therapy and Somatic Psychotherapy which both emphasize gentleness, de-shaming, practicing compassion as a learnable skill, and honoring our mind-body experiences. Additionally, my work is guided by Multicultural and Social Justice orientations, meaning that our work together will include exploration around your cultural identities and potential greater social systems at play. Healing is not a linear process, but together we will meet the ebbs and flows of your journey with honesty, care, and probably some humor!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

For a lot of us, "healing" can feel like a vague destination point reserved for a select few. I don't believe there is any one way to heal (nor do I believe there is an end point). I believe that you already have the knowledge of what is and what is not working for you. Therapy can be a place to explore some of our most painful emotions such as grief and shame, but also can be a place to celebrate growth and have some fun. We will probably laugh and cry together. We will most likely engage in a variety of therapeutic activities together such as body work, creative/intuitive therapy, or inner child healing work to name a few, but I will always tailor my interventions to meet your needs and preferences. I also welcome client feedback in session! In a world where everyone is looking for answers, let's look within and around. Let's not overcomplicate an already overwhelming existence, sometimes the simplest interventions are the most profound.
