I integrate mindfulness and values work into our sessions, and help you build psychological flexibility and resilience.
I help you understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and actions and create meaningful chance in the way you cope with negative thought patterns, overwhelming feelings, and maladaptive behavior patterns.
I am well-versed in the impact that codependency can have on our relationships and self-esteem. I love helping people regain a sense of identity, self-worth, and empowerment.
I work from a highly trauma-informed perspective and have extensive experience integrating trauma recovery into our sessions. I have worked with many people who are recovering from physical, sexual, and emotional abuse; veterans with military trauma; people with complex family-of-origin and relationship trauma; and people healing from religious trauma/spiritual abuse.
I have extensive experience and training in helping people heal from alcohol and drug addiction, including several years experience providing individual and group therapy in both inpatient and outpatient substance use/mental health treatment centers. I can work from both an abstinence or "moderation" perspective- whatever is best for you. I am familiar with 12-step recovery and can integrate that at your request.
