I work collaboratively with individuals to build upon existing strengths to overcome obstacles. I want for others what they want for themselves; to be both content and happy in life. How does this happen? I spend time learning what has been holding you back and then designing ways to break free from those often-longstanding mindsets, habits, behaviors and attitudes that are not serving you well. You know who you are capable of being...I just help you get there!
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is collaborative and straightforward with honest communication. If there is something I say or suggest that you disagree with or don't like, please feel free to let me know. That will help me know how to best be of service to you. I am a very interactive therapist and will make suggestions and/or give assignments that will help increase your self-knowledge, coping, while working to decrease any negative symptoms you may be experiencing. I bring kindness, compassion, and humor to the counseling process and work from a strengths-based perspective to help you explore issues interfering with your happiness, relationships, work or school life as well as feeling good about yourself or your life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that change is possible and that you can have the life you want given the right efforts and supports. Most people know what is right for them, what they want in life but have trouble putting into place the routines, skills, habits to make that a reality. I have the necessary skills, and experience to help, and a unique interest in the success and happiness of others. I am eager to be part of that process with you!
