About My Clients
Are you ready to move beyond your current situation and have the skills to navigate difficulty in the future? The people I work with are willing and open to show up and traverse the landscape of their past, survey the present, evaluate their choices, and consider who they are meant to be. As Joseph Campbell said, "The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek." I can help ease that fear as I help you thoughtfully explore and gain the skills you need to become who you are meant to be.
My Background and Approach
Finding a therapist you connect with can make all the difference in your therapy. I have found having good rapport with my clients, connecting on things outside of therapy, helps us work towards your goals. I pull from my love of reading, philosophy, neuroscience, and well-timed humor to help drive a point home. Whether it is difficult struggles, life transitions, mental health battles, existential turmoil, or goal setting, I'm here for you and your loved ones. I genuinely consider it my life's work. I often tell the people I work with that I won't overwhelm them but I won't waste their time either. I listen, explore, and help you gain the tools to not need me anymore! My job is to work myself out of a job.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe the pain and struggles we experience in our lives can be used for our ultimate good. No matter who we are, our background, or how hard we try, we cannot come out of life unscathed. Sometimes the challenges we face can feel like a large, looming mountain of darkness ready to swallow us up. I am here to turn on my head lamp and help you explore, to dig for the diamond hiding in the dark. We can turn our struggles into wisdom. I don't believe we have to pointlessly suffer. Sometimes we are the cause of our own stumblings, but often we can find ourselves on the receiving end of misfortune out of our control. Regardless, it is my belief that no matter where our difficulties stem from, we have an opportunity and responsibility to make something more of ourselves in our efforts to rise above. I have found this to be true in my own life, and the lives of the incredible people I have been fortunate to work with.
