About My Clients
I support adults, including those from the diaspora, facing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, and identity challenges. I help clients explore culture, systemic barriers, and mental health, tailoring my approach to their unique experiences. My focus includes anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and the emotional impact of systemic oppression and intergenerational trauma, empowering clients to build resilience and develop coping strategies for lasting well-being.
My Background and Approach
My therapeutic approach is client-centered, collaborative, and rooted in both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Feminist Theory. I help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns while also exploring the broader social and cultural factors that may influence their well-being. Through CBT, we work on developing practical strategies to manage anxiety and stress. Feminist Theory informs my approach by recognizing the impact of power dynamics, systemic oppression, and identity on mental health. I am particularly passionate about supporting people of the diaspora, and helping them navigate the complexities of cultural identity, intergenerational trauma, and systemic barriers. My goal is to create a supportive and affirming space where clients feel empowered to navigate challenges, build resilience, and make meaningful changes in their lives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am passionate about mental health advocacy, particularly in supporting individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and the diaspora. I believe in the importance of addressing systemic barriers to mental well-being and strive to create an inclusive, affirming space for my clients. I am committed to social justice, racial equity, and de-stigmatizing mental health care. My work is informed by a deep understanding of intergenerational trauma, identity, and the impact of societal pressures on mental health.
