About My Clients
Do you constantly worry about different things? are you tired of overthinking? Do you want to process a painful life event that has left you hurt or afraid? To others, it may seem like you are perfectly fine but deep inside you feel discouraged and insecure. You've had enough of the same patterns and are ready to make some changes in your daily life. Does your child have frequent emotional outbursts? Is your child hyper or inattentive? Does your child/ teen have social anxiety?
My Background and Approach
I use ACT, DBT, EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure&response prevention, attachment based approach and interpersonal neurobiology. In my work with children/ teens, I use art, music, toys, sand and movement to help them express themselves in a less threatening way. As a Christian, I can integrate Christian faith into the sessions if client prefers.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that healing involves addressing different aspects of wellness such as mental, emotional, spiritual, physical and relational. I incorporate trauma informed practices in my sessions because I am aware that a history of experiencing distressing events play a huge part in how people respond in the present. I include thought restructuring in my treatment as it is very powerful in shaping a person's feelings and behaviors. I also encourage clients to identify their strengths and highlight this in our work of building coping strategies. I intuitively work from a Christian worldview but can work well with others who have different views.
